Lance Armstrong Back in the Saddle?

Armstrong

It's official - Lance Armstrong (the 7 times Tour De France Winner) has confirmed his return to professional cycling in 2009.

So far the plan for the cyclist appears to be to take part in 5 events in 2009 including:

- The Amgen Tour of California
- The Tour of Georgia
- Paris-Nice
- The Dauphiné Libéré stage race
- The Tour de France

Lance (who will be 37 next year), retired 2 years ago after earning his place as one of the most exceptional and talented cyclists in history. Since stepping away from the world of professional cycling, the star took part in several Marathons and invested more of his time in his Cancer Charity work.

If Armstrong is going to take part in the 2009 Tour, he is going to need to get a team together and confirm his entry officially. If he we're to win the event for an 8th time, he would become the oldest cyclist in history to do so.

He is a man full of surprises so we wouldn't put it past him...!
